According to a new report published by the Commonwealth Fund, the US medical system ranked last among 11 first world countries, especially in terms of affordability and equal medical access between wealthy and poor individuals.
Among the other countries examined in the report, the US spends more in its health care system but continues to have higher rates of deaths which doctors can ultimately prevent.
In particular, compared to the United Kingdom, which ranked first in the study, the US has higher rates of infant mortality and a lower life expectancy.
However, the US outperformed other countries in doctor-patient relationships and survival rates after major health conditions, such as cancer.
