Earlier this week, the U.S Democratic. Representative from Minnesota, Betty McCollum, introduced a bill to help promote human rights by preventing American tax dollars from supporting Israel’s ill treatment of Palestinian children.

The bill, called the Promoting Human Rights by Ending Israeli Military Detention of Human Rights Act, would ensure that US funds aren’t supporting the military detention of Palestinian children.

U.S funds have previously ended up supporting illegal practices in Palestine including sensory deprivation, death threats, torture, solitary confinement and more.

Each year, the U.S. provides more than $3 billion in military aid to Israel, under which Palestinians are living in oppression.

More than 10,000 Palestinian children have been detained, jailed over the last 17 years, as reported Al Jazeera.
