A new report released by UNICEF indicates that 20 percent of children living in the most developed areas of the world are still living in poverty.
The U.S. is ranked as one of the countries “above the global average” with children suffering from poverty.
“Higher incomes do not automatically lead to improved outcomes for all children,” said director of the UNICEF research center Innocenti, Sarah Cook, as reported by DW.
Countries that were ranked the highest with the least ratio of poverty among children include Germany, South Korea, and the Netherlands.
Latin American countries ranked the lowest.
