Survey Shows Americans Unhappy with College System

According to a new survey from New America, Americans are unhappy with the current state of the college system within the country.

While many Americans continue to value college degrees, only a quarter of the respondents believe that higher education is functioning properly.

Surprisingly, over half of the individuals surveyed believe that not completing a college program can lead to well-paying jobs.

Although studies have strongly illustrated that a degree in higher education often leads to well-paying positions, the majority of those polled by New America believe that colleges and universities fail to value their students’ needs over their own personal interests.

Overall, the survey notes that community colleges and public institutions received greater positive feedback compared to for-profit and private colleges.
