The de Young Museum in San Francisco is expanding its representation of America’s rich, diverse cultural history through 62 newly acquired works by contemporary African American artists in the South.

The exhibit, “Revelations: Art From the African American South,” includes paintings and sculptures and will open at the beginning of June and run until April 2018.

The exhibits will be open and free to the public the first two days, including June 2 and June 3, and will include a panel discussion sponsored by the San Francisco chapter of Links, a group dedicated to improving the lives of African-Americans and underserved communities in San Francisco.
