NAMM Awards Over 500 Schools for Excellent Music Education

This year, The National Association of Music Merchants Foundation designated over 500 school districts around the country as school grounds that have particularly outstanding music education.

Among the school districts that were recognized as “Best Communities for Music Education” were San Juan Capistrano and Burbank in California, Brownsville Independent in Texas, Clarkstown Central in New York, and Ocean Beach in Washington.

These schools and districts have been recognized for offering outstanding and comprehensive music education, which has become a greater priority in schools across the nation as new research suggests that students who participate in quality music education experience improved language development, as well as other cognitive and social skills.
