The Di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art in Napa is planning to sell a large portion of its 1,600-piece collection in order to offset its deficit and build up its endowment.
The museum will use funds to refocus its educational programming and develop large-scale exhibitions, according to Art Forum.
“The decision to reduce and focus the collection is necessary to keep di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art’s doors open and to allow both organizations to thrive and serve our community,” said Brenda Mixson, president of the foundation’s board.
