Kentucky Coal Mining Museum Switches to Solar

The Kentucky Coal Mining Museum, dedicated to the history of the coal industry, is switching to solar power to save money.

Although the museum has been running on conventional sources of energy for its entire existence – since 1994 – the switch to solar power will save the museum approximately $8K or more annually on energy costs. The museum will soon install 80 solar panels on its roof.

The price of using solar power technologies is slowly dropping as demand increases across the U.S.

Home owners and small businesses too are finding it easier to embrace renewable energy sources as technologies become more accessible and affordable.
