Grand Egyptian Museum in Egypt to Open in 2020

The Grand Egyptian Museum in Egypt is set to be the biggest museum in the world that is dedicated solely to highlighting one civilization, according to the LA Times.

The museum which will store more than 5,000 artifacts from Tutankhamun’s tomb and overall 100,000 artifacts, is set to open in 2020. Museum officials have said that they are looking forward to presenting the artworks, which have been transferred from the Museum in Cairo, under new light. The new display of the artworks will allow for a better environment for the preservation of the artifacts.

Overall, the museum will cost more than $1.1 billion, according to sources.
