Department of Education Releases Data on Decreased Bullying in Schools

According to new federal data released by the Department of Education and Justice, fewer students are reporting being bullied in schools today than they did two decades ago. The percentage of schools that reported bullying happening at least once a week dropped from 29 percent to 12 percent in 2015.

The data collected in 2015 showed a dramatic decrease in bullying and violence in schools than any other year before. The number of schools that have implemented security systems into their campuses has also increased from 19% to more than 80 percent.

Additionally, other data showed that students reported fewer gangs in their schools.
