Two Myanmarese journalists are garnering greater support after being sentenced for seven years in prison.

Reuters journalists Kyaw Soe Oo and Wa Lone were determined to be violating Myanmar’s secrets law when it was discovered they were reporting on the country’s Rohingya Muslim minority.

Both men and their families have received criticism and even death threats as a result of their investigation and subsequent imprisonment.

We support Kyaw Soe Oo and Wa Lone and other journalists who are seeking to make their communities safer.

Visit PEN America to contribute to their legal defense fund.
