County Creates Petition to Prevent Resident Deportation

A community in Indiana has united in order to prevent an immigrant from being deported to his native Columbia.

The residents of conservative and industrial Elkhart County have shown their support for Armando Paez, a father of three who is scheduled to be deported after living for 18 years within the US.

Paez was charged for a misdemeanor DUI in 2000, and the event most likely raised his chances in being deported under new administration.

Citizens of Elkhart County have begun a petition to allow Paez to stay in the US and not be regarded as a “criminal alien.”

Paez’s wife and children are weary they will also be deported unless a pardon is granted upon the family.
