The Berggruen Institute founded by the billionaire art collector Nicolas Berggruen is awarding its annual think tank $1 million prize to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
She announced that she would be donating the money to a nonprofit organization.
“By grit and determination, brains, courage, compassion and a fiery commitment to justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg rose from modest beginnings to become one of the most respected, and most beloved, jurists of our time,” said one member of the prize jury.
